Our Self-catering riverside Cottages are spacious, fully equipped with breathtaking mountain views. The tranquility and beauty in and around the cottages will guarantee an unforgettable stay. The Cottages are practically designed and tastefully decorated to add to the enjoyment of your stay. Surrounded by trees, an outside braai area and large patios will add to your convenience.

Each cottage is equipped with its own Private Kol-Kol wood-fired hot tub
4 cottages = 4 Kol-Kol hot tubs

We do not take 1-night bookings over a weekend. If you would like to enquire about a 1-night stay over a weekend, feel free to email and we would love to assist you with a custom price. Kindly note that this will differ from our normal prices.

Breathtakingly Beautiful! Enjoyed every moment of our stay at Mont Rouge Cottages. Each cottage is beautifully designed and it has everything needed. The views are spectacular!!! Marisha is very welcoming and she went out of her way to make sure that we are comfortable.

Situated perfectly Everything was perfect, except the shower, the water either burns you or your freeze, the gas geyser goes off and on, not pleasant. The loft can be very disturbing when the people next door walks or moves furniture.

Terrific Tulbagh @ Mont Rouge Mont Rouge was incredible - we stayed in the honeymoon cottage (tree house on the river)... it was so well appointed and comfortable 🙂 We enjoyed our braai area on the patio overlooking the fruit orchards and beautiful surrounding mountains 🙂 The dogs loved their walks on this fab farm and most of the restaurants and wine farms are pet friendly which was great 🙂 We definitely will be back 🙂 - especially for the yummy fresh bread and jam which welcomed us 🙂

Our stay at Mont Rouge Cottages Tulbagh We truly enjoyed our stay at the Mont Rouge Cottages Tulbagh. Marisha du Plessis and her team have been a benchmark as far as service is concerned. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the town of Tulbagh. The town centre has deteriorated to the extent that one feels unsafe walking down the main road.

Stunning views and comfortable cottage. We stayed in cottage 2 and it had everything you could ask for, they could not do enough to make us comfortable and with a few personal touches we felt right at home. The cottage is simply and well equipped, there is WIFI, air-conditioning, shaded parking, towels, extra blankets and it is a few steps away from the waterhole but still private. The inside fireplace makes me want to come back in Winter to see the changing colours of the season. It is a lovely place to unwind and relax.

An exceptional get away Having stayed in numerous bed and breakfasts in the Tulbagh valley I would rate Mont Rouge as one of the front runners! From dealing with Marisha to the accommodation and facilities, nothing could be faulted! We stayed in the larger 'cottage', seven adults and two children and at no time did we feel cramped, or without our own space to relax. It is both picturesque, and peaceful without being to far away from the amazing wine and olive farms. The rock pool was a much needed dip on a sweltering day, yet we now CANNOT WAIT to get back in winter. We would HIGHLY recommend Mont Rouge as your next get away!
